If you haven’t been following my blog for long, you might not know that I’m also a nurse. The need to care for people has always been part of me. I’m also so drawn to Stampin’up! products for my creativity. The opportunity to be able to contribute to two things that are dear to me is so rewarding.
Did you know that Stampin’up! has donated over $1.5 million to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMCH)? Every year Stampin’up! selects one stamp set and donates $3 to the RMCH for every set sold. This year the Sharing Sweet Thoughts Stamp Set was selected for this amazing contribution. It’s available wood mount or clear mount. And to you my French customers. “C’est Aussi disponible en Francais. Le jeu se nomme Douce Pensées à Partager.” What is even sweeter is that the set coordinates with the Everyday Jars Framelits. Today, I choose to create a card with this collection. To view all images from this stamp set, view on my product list below.
How to make this card:
- Cut a 4 1/4 x 11″ piece of whisper white cardstock and score at 5 1/2 inches.
- Cut a 4 x 5 1/4″ piece of Sahara Sand cardstock and glue to your card base.
- Cut a 3 7/8 x 5 1/8″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock and glue to your Sahara sand piece of cardstock.
- Emboss with versa mark ink the hearts from the Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set and add clear embossing powder. Heat set with the Heat tool. Don’t forget to use your embossing buddy before to remove all static.
- Add Sahara sand ink (use the ink from your lid and blend with water) to the shimmery white cardstock using an aqua painter.
- Run through the big shot the biggest circle from the stitched shapes framelits with Shimmery white cardstock.
- Stamp the jar from the Sharing Sweet Thoughts in Basic Grey Archival ink and die cut with the coordinating Everyday Jars Framelits.
- Stamp the strawberries from the same stamp set with the basic grey archival ink onto shimmery white cardstock and fussy cut with the paper snips.
- Watercolor the strawberries with the aquapainter and Real Red and Pear Pizzazz inks.
- Stamp the greeting from the Sharing Sweet Thought stamp set in Sahara sand ink and punch out with the Classic Label Punch and snip the end on one side.
- Stamp in real red ink the lid image from the Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set and die cut with the Everyday Jars Framelits.
- Embellish your card with Pearl Basic Jewels, Delicate White Doilies, Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim, Pear Pizzazz 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon and Linen Thread.
And Voila!
Hope your enjoying the long Easter Weekend with your loved ones:)

Nurses are a godsend and I just want to thank you for what you do! I was born with Tetrology of Fallot and at the time my parents were told I wouldn’t make it through my teens. My oxygen level on a good day was 75% and I could not use supplemental oxygen. I made it through my teens, graduated high school and got my first full time job as a data entry clerk. A few short years after that it was obvious that I could not work full time and eventually I was deemed fully disabled and started receiving disability. A few years later I was invited to a Stampin’ Up workshop and I was immediately hooked. I signed up as a demonstrator more as a hobby demonstrator and tried to do workshops in people’s homes but it became too much work for me to do that so I decided to start a stamp club and actually ended up starting two! I had 10 women in each club and they would come to my house once a month. I was doing great with my sales and for a few years I held these clubs and usually I would have the same women sign up for another year. Eventually I went into heart failure and my health was declining. I am from upstate NY and was scheduled to go to the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio for testing to see if I qualified for a heart and double lung transplant. The chances weren’t good. I wasn’t sure if I would actually ever be coming home from that hospital alive. I sold my car, all of my beloved books and all of my Stampin up stuff….I was devestated. I went to the Cleveland Clinic for my week of evaluation……and came home 7 months later with a new heart and lungs!!! I NEVER would have made it through this ordeal 5 hours away from my family if it wasn’t for the nurses, nurses aides, respiratory therapists, doctors, surgeons, etc. They became my family and they kept me strong. I will be forever grateful for anyone in the medical field and forever grateful for my organ donor and his/her family. P.S. I am now a very healthy stampin up demonstrator again!!!!!

Lisa, your story is so inspiring! I’m happy you’ve gotten your health back and that you had all the support you needed during this difficult time. Stampin’up! Has a special place in my heart and in yours as well from what I’m reading. There’s something special about gathering demonstrators together. That positive energy! Hopefully we get to see you at an event in the near future. Wishing you health moving forward. Xo
