How To Make An Ombre Card

Happy Friday/Bon Vendredi!

Any big plans this weekend? We are having dinner with friends and Chris’s brother and our sister in law and are trying to play cupid by matching two people together. Wish us luck! Chris is also going to be at our local grocery store for the food drive for the people in need for the holidays. So our weekend is quite full. I’m almost done decorating and my craft room is having a big makeover. I can’t wait to give you a tour when it’s completely done.

Day 10 of Kim’s Countdown to Christmas:

For today’s project, I’m sharing with you how to make an Ombre Card. I promise, this is the last penguin project you will see for a while:)

Step by Step Instructions:

Die cut snowflakes from the So Many Snowflakes Dies with Shimmery White Cardstock
Glue the snowflakes onto the card base using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue (my favorite glue)
With a blending brush, add ink to the top of the card, first with Blushing Bride, then Smoky Slate and lastly So Saffron
Embellish your card as you wish

I kept the penguin theme colors that I had done for my gift tags that are posted HERE. You can use any dies and any colors for this technique. The blending brush does all the magic.

Adding layers to a card is so much fun to do. I wanted to see the die cut snowflakes so I added Cardstock Vellum and the Wonderful Snowflake behind the penguin. I embossed my greeting with white embossing powder.
