Artisan Sketch Garden DSP + A Little Fussy Cutting Joy
Hello Crafters, Bonjour!
One of my absolute favorite things about a new catalog release is discovering those products that instantly spark creativity—and the Artisan Sketch Garden Designer Series Paper from the May 2026 catalog did exactly that for me.
Let me ask you… are you team fussy cut or team “I admire from afar”?
Because I am firmly, unapologetically Team Fussy Cut…
The moment I saw these beautiful little vases in the paper, I knew I had to cut them out and give them their own moment to shine. There’s something so relaxing (and rewarding!) about fussy cutting, especially when the images are this charming.
Building the Background
To create a soft and subtle base for my design, I used the Perennial Postage Dies and blended Pool Party ink over the background. This gave me that dreamy wash of color that lets the focal elements really stand out without overpowering them.
Bringing the Vases to Life
Once all my vases were cut, I layered them across the card front to create a playful, dimensional arrangement. I then colored them using ink picked up directly from my ink pads and applied with a blender pen—one of my go-to techniques for adding soft, custom color.
This step really made the images come alive!
The Finishing Touch
Because I was working with a black and white base, I wanted just a little something extra to catch the light… and the Sunset Sparkle Sequins were the perfect choice
They add just the right pop of shimmer and bring the whole card together beautifully.

I absolutely love how these vases stand out against the background—it’s a perfect mix of bold contrast and soft color.
So now I have to know…
