A Case From Stampin’ Up!’s Virtual Card Retreat

Hello Crafters, Bonjour!

One of my favorite things about Stampin’ Up!’s Virtual Card Making Retreat is how inspiring each project is. The designs are beautiful as-is, but they also give you so much room to make them your own. Today, I’m excited to share a card I created by casing Card #14 from the retreat — with a few personal touches and a fresh new color palette.

Casing Card #14 from Stampin’ Up!’s Virtual Card Making Retreat

Switching Up the Colours

While I loved the original version, I decided to change the colors to match my own style. For this card, I used:

  • Secret Sea
  • Cloud Cover
  • Old Olive
  • Crumb Cake

This combination feels earthy, calm, and elegant — and it works perfectly with the layout and details of the design.

*Below is the original card from Stampin’ Up!’s Virtual Card Retreat.

One of My Favorite Features: Two-Tone Paper + Blends

One of the standout elements of this card is how the two-tone Designer Series Paper can be completely transformed with just a little bit of coloring. Using Stampin’ Blends to add depth and shading is such a simple technique, but it makes a huge impact. It’s a great reminder that you don’t always need complicated layers to create something special.

That Gorgeous Script Stamp

Another detail I absolutely love is the script stamp from the exclusive retreat stamp set. The lettering is so beautiful and adds the perfect soft texture in the background.

For my version, I stamped the script onto two-tone Crumb Cake cardstock, which added warmth and subtle contrast while still keeping the background neutral. It’s one of those little touches that really elevates the finished card.

A Layout Worth Recreating

The overall layout of Card #14 is just fantastic. It’s balanced, versatile, and can easily be adapted for different occasions, colors, and sentiments. This is definitely one of those card designs you’ll want to recreate again and again.

Missed the Encore Class?

If you weren’t able to join us for the Encore Class Craft Along , don’t worry — you can still take part! We shared many wonderful projects (plus two beautiful boxes), and the replay is still available. You can also purchase the full tutorial in my online store so you can craft along anytime at your own pace. I’m sharing a sneak peek of my class in the Encore Retreat.  There is a second class in the Encore Craft Along designed by Elizabeth.

I added the virtual card kit in my store below. You can get it in English and/or French.  It contains two stamp sets and one set of dies and all the extra products.

Be sure to check it out if you’d like to catch up on all the inspiration!

I have added what you need to make this card.  I listed the kit in English and in French.  Most of the products are in the kit except the Hole Punch Assortment, the Blends and Inks.  Those you need to purchase separately.

I hope you liked my case today,

Kim xo
