Hello Crafters, Bonjour!
April Showers Bring May Flowers! Happy month of April. Spring is definitely here. I hope you are enjoying your Easter Weekend with family and close friends. Today’s challenge has that spring vibe.
Welcome to our April blog hop with the Color Fusers Design Team. Hop around the world with our group of talented demonstrators. We’ve created designs from our April color challenge using Stampin’up! Colors. This color challenge theme is totally out of my comfort zone because of the brightness of the colors. But once I started creating, I was in love….and now I need to make additional projects with this same Color Combination. I am going to miss Parakeet Party since it’s retiring on April 30th. But on a side note, my preorder has arrived and I adore the 2024-2026 collection of in colors.
You may have just arrived here from my lovely friend Brenda Nelson. I adore her scrapbook layout! At the bottom of the page there is Color Fuser Badge to guide you to the next blog. You don’t want to miss our April color challenge which focuses on a beautiful trio combo. The Color Combination of Parakeet Party, Granny Apply Green and Calypso Coral feels like spring!
For today’s hop, I went with a simple Basic White Card featuring Stampin’up!’s Online Exclusive Flowering Zinnias Suite Collection. As soon as I saw the color challenge for this month, I thought of colourful spring flowers.
Color Combination Used:
Instructions to make the Simple Zinnia card:
- Score a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Basic White Cardstock at 5 1/2″
- Layer a 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Basic White Cardstock
- Layer on the right side of the cardbase a 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper
- Layer on the right side of the cardbase with the dsp a 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Calypso Coral Cardstock that has been stamped in Calypso Coral Ink using an image from the Simple Zinnia Stamp Set
- Add Calypso Coral Ink with a Blending Brush on the white piece of cardstock
- Add specs of Calypso Coral Ink using the coordinating Stampin’Blend
- Adhere a 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Flowering Zinnias DSP horizontal on the white piece of cardstock
- Emboss using the coordinating Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder a 2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Basic White Cardstock and adhere to the card
- Stamp and die cut in Tuxedo Black Ink the trio of flowers from the Simple Zinnia Bundle
- Color the image using the Calypso Coral, Granny Apple Green and the Parakeet Party Stampin, Blends
- Stamp in Tuxedo Ink the greeting from the Simply Zinnia Stamp Set onto Basic White Cardstock and add to the card
- Embellish with a bow out of Linen Thread
- Add coordinating Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins
** Use leftover Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper to embellish the envelope.
I adore the Font that Stampin’up! has used for the greetings for the Simple Zinnia Stamp Set. I hope they use this Font more often…
Tip: Mixing the Calypso Coral Stampin Blend with the Parakeet Party or the Granny Apple Green Stampin Blend gave the yellow tinge of color to the centre of my flowers.
I added Wink Of Stella to the centre of my flowers for that extra sparkle.
I love that the Calypso Coral Light Stampin’Blend has a Petal Pink kind of color and that the Calypso Coral Dark Blend adds a darker contrast to the flowers.
Next on the hop is my talented friend Melanie Hockin from the United States. I cannot wait to see what she has designed for us today! Click on the Blog Badge below to get to her blog.
Hope you are enjoying our Hop!
