Hello/Bonjour crafters!
Day 3 of Kim’s Countdown to Christmas is all about giving back to my community. Chris & I have decided to sponsor a child for Christmas with our local agency called Valoris. They are the children’s Aid in our Community. Chris chose a teenager. I love his choice because I thought that not everyone would pick an older child. Having 3 girls myself made it very easy to select additional gifts. Although there was a specific gift request on the ticket for that child, Chris and I decided to add more gifts and give back in a big way. I’m hoping the teenager he picked will be happy this Christmas by getting our gifts. We count our blessings everyday and if that gesture can make someone’s Christmas special than our hearts are full.
On a side note, as the commander of our local police station, what made Chris’s heart fuller was that the police and other important staff from his detachment all picked a child. The Christmas tree had no more children left to pick from. All the tickets were taken and the Valoris Agency had a lot of gifts to pick up. That is truly giving back to our community.
Day 3 of Kim’s Countdown to Christmas:
I chose a simple card to coordinate with the gift wrapping for our special teenager. Creating a card under 5 minutes was not my goal but the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper from the Peaceful Place Suite Collection is so pretty on it’s own that I didn’t need to add lots. I added the White 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon from that same collection to embellish the card. The greeting came from the Whimsical Trees Stamp Set which was embossed with silver embossing powder. This stamp set is also available in French and called Sapins Fantaisistes and is on sale! The tag for the greeting was from the Tasteful Labels Dies. I keep a jar full of pre made tags so it was easy to add a greeting in a flash of a second.
